Stampestuen

NORWAY

Stampestuen picks up forgotten songs about strong personalities with captivating life stories. While their debut album «Brev fra Amerika» focused on songs from the great migration wave from Norway to America, Stampestuen’s upcoming album (due to be released in the spring 2022) is dedicated to songs about individuals that for different reasons ended up as enemies of the society in 19th century Norway.

The members of Stampestuen are established musicians in the Norwegian jazz- and traditional music scene, with a common interest in old songs and stories. Through their arrangements and use of instruments they want to emphasize on the lyrics, aiming to bring the historical events closer to us.

Beate Børli Løkken – vocal, dulcimer
Marius Graff – guitar, mandolin, banjo, vocal
Jon Hjellum Brodal – fiddle, hardanger fiddle
Anders Lillebo – guitar, harmonica, reed org
